FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • When is the best time for my 3D/4D ultrasound?
We recommend between the 22nd and 34th weeks. However, excellent pictures can be taken any time. Visit our 'Best Time Calculator' page for a better understanding on when to come in for a 3D/4D ultrasound, or feel free to give us a call.
  • Can you determine the gender of my baby?
In most cases we can determine gender depending upon cooperation from the baby, and baby's gestational age. Our requirement for having a Gender Determination scan done with us is to be at least 15 weeks along. We can make arrangements for a follow up appointment if we cannot determine the gender during your visit for any reason.
  • Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Appointments for diagnostic scans must be scheduled over the phone, but if you wish to schedule an elective ultrasound, such as a 3D/4D session or Gender Determination, you are welcome to do so online. Click here to fill out our required waiver form. Once you have submitted the form, you will be redirected to our scheduling page.
  • Is the visit covered by insurance?
Baby’s Debut does not currently accept any form of insurance. Most of our ultrasound appointments are elective procedures, which are not covered by your insurance. However, we like to keep our costs low for both our elective ultrasound packages and diagnostic.
  • Does Baby's Debut offer Diagnostic Ultrasounds ordered by my Doctor/OBGYN/Midwife?
As of January 2024, we will be providing ultrasound scans such as pregnancy confirmation/dating, full anatomy, and any other ultrasound ordered by your doctor throughout each trimester of your pregnancy. Because we are unable to accept insurance at this time, we keep our prices for these types of ultrasounds affordable and lower than what you would pay out-of-pocket at a traditional hospital or ultrasound office. We also provide a very personal and relaxed experience at Baby's Debut, allowing our clients to bring their friends and family with them.
  • Who can attend with me?
Everybody is welcome to attend. We encourage you to bring your friends and family.
  • Is the ultrasound safe?
Ultrasound has over thirty years worth of extensive studies to prove it is perfectly safe. It is simply sound waves that bounce back to render the image.
  • Am I guaranteed to get beautiful 3D/4D images of my baby?
Every baby and body is different. We will do our best to capture quality 3D/4D images at your original appointment. However, if baby is not in an optimal position, and will not move after several attempts to get them to; or there are any other issues, we may provide you with the option to get scheduled for a Re-do appointment. Re-do appointments are granted on a case-by-case basis and are not a guarantee. Baby's Debut has a NO REFUNDS policy. All clients are made aware of this policy when signing our required waiver form.
  • What should I do to prepare and ensure high quality pictures?
There are several factors that determine the clarity of an ultrasound image: the amount of fluid surrounding the baby, its gestational age, the position of the baby and the physical condition of the mother (the more tissue we have to penetrate the less detail). Drink plenty of water a few days before your ultrasound. It is a good idea to have something high in sugar (we recommend orange juice) to help with the movement of the baby if they are sleepy, unless you are told not to by your physician. It is important to have a full bladder at your Gender Determination appointment.
  • Can I gift an ultrasound session to a friend or family member?
An ultrasound session with us makes a great gift! We have a few different options: you can purchase a gift certificate for the amount of any of our available ultrasound packages, or for a custom amount of your choice; or, if your friend or family member has a scheduled appointment with us, you are welcome to pay for that appointment in full or partial payment over the phone. Please Note: *Gift Certificates must be purchased over the phone with a credit or debit card. *Recipient will have to call our office to schedule an appointment (if they do not already have one scheduled); we do not accept walk-ins. *Gift Certificates are NON-REFUNDABLE!
